Liberate! was published by Auckland Animal Action from Birkenhead, New Zealand, running to seven issues in 1996 and 1997. It reflected the growth of grassroots animal liberation activism in mid-1990s New Zealand, covering debates over tactics, tensions between environmentalists and animal liberationists, and local campaigns such as opposition to Marineland.
