From the late 1970s, anti-fur campaigning moved from letters and leaflets to pickets of fur shops, investigations of mink and fox farms and high-profile advertising campaigns. In Britain, fur farming was banned by the Fur Farming (Prohibition) Act 2000; elsewhere the campaigns continue.
