Memphis Vegan (USA)
Memphis Vegan News was a small newsletter produced by animal rights activists in Memphis, Tennessee, in the mid-1990s. It aimed to tell vegans and non-vegans alike about the growing animal liberation movement in Memphis and beyond, and to be an open forum for readers’ letters, articles, art and recipes. Issue 5, from January 1995, celebrates the closure of two Memphis fur shops after months of local protest, and reprints letters and press cuttings on hunting and a Thanksgiving protest in Little Rock.
